As you have probably heard by now, Second Set will be at the Trap Door,
at 3251 Scott (@Chestnut) this Thursday, August 10. You've probably been
fed the "details" -- that the show is likely to begin near the 8:30pm
watermark and progress through the midnight hour and beyond. You've been
told that this is all there is to know. The sad truth, friends, is that
you've been had.

While everything you've been told is technically "true", certain facts
have been studiously avoided by those in power over the media. These
facts show a direct causal relationship between Second Set shows and
world events.

Take heed. On Wednesday, July 19, after a week of heat waves in Texas
that killed 12, 2ndSetters described the Red Devil Lounge's controlled
indoor climate as "comfortable." On Tuesday, July 25, while Second Set
fans were safe inside the Tongue and Groove listening to the band bust
funky jams and such, a tornado hit Granite Falls, Minnesota, killing one
and damaging or destroying dozens of homes and other buildings. And on
Friday, August 4, in what is possibly the most chilling "coincidence"
yet, during a Second Set show in which many fans were confirmed present
and booty-shakin', many, many poor souls all over the country were in
theatres, watching Hollow Man.

We can't force you to come to the Trap Door on Thursday, even if it is
for your own good. But if we don't see you there, call us. We'll be
worried.
