[2ndsetters] Save the Date

No, this isn't to ask for your support of some initiative to protect
that tasty, fruity, nutty wonder, the date. They're doing fine, as far
as we know.

It's to get the word out about Second Set's CD release party on the
16th. Maybe you've heard about the CD we just cut. Well, we'll be
celebrating its release at, well, a CD release party. It's in two
weeks, on a Saturday. At 9pm on the 16th. At the Tongue and Groove on
Union and Van Ness in the City.

Tell your friends, saying "Second Set is having their CD release party
at the Tongue and Groove on Saturday the 16th of June." If they're good
friends and you care about their happiness, you might even want to wait
on the line while they block the date on their calendars.

Maybe your friend has never heard of Second Set. In this case you might
like to explain it to them while they update their calendar. You could
say, "Time is the measure of life, and the measure of time is the
second. Televisions, matching pillow shams, and tennis matches come in
sets. So you can see how Second Set encompasses all things in life that
are good or worthwhile." Don't waste your night pondering the nature of
the universe, come to the party and find out!

On the other hand, your friend might already know all about Second Set.
In this case, you might want to check out the poster for the show at

I was going to use this space to remind you that the date, time, and
place are Saturday June 16, 9pm, and the Tongue and Groove,
respectively; but, that would be repetetive and redundant. Not to
mention repetetive and redundant. So instead I'll tell you why this
email is important:

Maybe you're one of those who doesn't plan this sort of thing until the
last minute. Or maybe something comes up for the night of the 16th,
which would have commited you to miss the show. Either way, you'll be
glad we made you plan for it in advance, and we could never forgive
ourselves if we let you miss the party.

So go ahead, mark your calendar. We'll hold.
