In light of resistance from the California Congress to enact an
appropriate measure, Second Set independently dubs January 26 as
"Hillbilly Appreciation Day." A great night of celebration will mark the
occasion at the Hotel Utah. No expense spared.
What this means to you: Go to 500 4th St. @ Bryant in SF (or call
415.421.8308 for directions) at 9pm on Friday. Dress casually and choose
clothing you can dance in. Once there, approach the bartender and
request your preferred beverage. Then watch and listen as Greg Howard
and Famous Last Words join Second Set in providing a Hillbilly
Appreciation Day to remember.
Greg Howard is an especially appropriate celebrity for a Hillbilly
Appreciation Day show, having played and toured with the Dave Matthews
Band since 1993.
Err, right. Anyway, for immediate distribution follows the text of the
resolution authorizing the show. See you there.
SSR 1 is a new bill by Santana about Hillbilly Appreciation Day
Resolved by the Assembly of the Band of Second Set, the Senate
thereof concurring, That the Legislature does hereby designate January
26, 2001, as Hillbilly Appreciation Day and encourages all Californians
to join Greg Howard, Famous Last Words, and Second Set in appropriate
festivities; and be it further
Resolved, That the aforementioned shenanigans heretofore referred to
as "festivities", hereforthwith referred to as "the Second Set show at
the Utah", shall take place no earlier than 9 sets of 60 sets of 60
seconds past the noon hour on the aforementioned date wherof this
resolution does make mention, as proscribed by the round thing on the
wall with two black lines one long and one short, and no later than 9pm
on the aforementioned date wherof this resolution does make
mention; and be it further
Resolved, That the Chief Clerk of the Assembly of the Band prepare
and transmit a copy of this resolution to the Governor and Fans of
Second Set.
